I know all too often that small business need to create landing pages- whether it is for a new product you are launching or a fresh home page. But then we shy away from creating something that we know will have a high conversion rate because paying a designer to create the page is simply not in the budget. Sure there are some great options like LeadPages- but that requires a monthly subscription and if you are using it enough it is not worth the $40 a month. I have a great tool for WordPress. After searching the internet for what felt like a month trying to find a solution and finally deciding that I only had 3 options- learn to write the code I needed to create the page I have sketched out, hire a designer to do it for me or pay for a subscription service that offers “tested” pages that are not what I had in mind. I stumbled onto my holy grail of wordpress plugins. WP Bakery Visual Composer.
Let me first say that this is a premium WordPress plugin and while it is not free and it well worth the $25 I have paid for it. I am still getting the hang of creating pages. But it is so easy. You click a button select what type of element you want to install. And bam! it’s there. Full customization. Enter photos, sliders, html, etc. The possibilities with this plugin seem to be infinite.
While my pages are not tested for conversion rates- I know that my brand image is being properly displayed and that is what is most important to me. Don’t get me wrong sales are great but I want sales to be to my target audience. Refunds tend to happen when you overreach your target and I would just like eliminate that step.
This is strong contender for any small business owner that has a limited budget and big ideas.
Here are some examples of pages that I have created with Visual Composer.
My home page keeps a nice banner with my latest blog posts for quick access to visitors as well as a large feature of what I have coming soon. I chose to use a large image to attract attention and get users to scroll down and hopefully convert if it something that interests them. This will change and my latest big announcements change and now I have the freedom to do anytime and with just a few clicks.
This is a lead capture page. That is all that it is intended to be. As you can tell there is no header at the top of the page or menu. When visitors come to this page I want minimal distractions. There is a menu at the bottom of the page but they will have to view the whole page in order to see it. To create this page I did a little coding- I created a new page template that was a “blank” page, meaning that it does grab the basic elements as my theme tells it on other pages. But now that the page template is created I can use it over and over.
If you have used Visual Composer I would love to see some of the pages you have created.
If you have another great tool that you use to create awesome landing pages please share those in the comments below.
**I am not affiliated with WP Bakery in any way. I did purchase the product myself and would do so again**
