As this year comes to close I am taking a look back over what has happened here at Sarah M Schultz. This was my first year blogging. I made it a whole year and didn’t give up. I almost did sometimes and posts have been sporatic as I had to step back and figure things out. You may have seen that I have new plans for the upcoming year. Let’s recap what happened since the launch. I created a medicore website like many newbie bloggers using the famous platform Blogger. I realized that after a few months it was not the right fit for me. If I am going to be serious about blogging then I should put my money where my mouth is. And I did. I purchased a domain. But I was still using Blogger. And then I finally took the leap and jumped to WordPress. I did not hire anyone to do this for me. I cried. But in the end I have figured it all out. I still feel like this site does not have the final look I want, but that may never come. But after all of that I decided to see which of my posts were my top performers for the year. I do check my stats often but usually just as a brief recap of current happenings (something I am going to work on). So here you have some of the top blog posts from 2013.
This was one of my very early posts, published in February. I can see just from this how much I have grown over the many months. And her room doesn’t even look the same. Since then she has gotten a new bed, desk and decor.
This post was published in late January and while the idea behind it is still great. I still use the look book myself. The pictures were of very poor quality. I feel like the post is more written as a young girl’s “Dear Diary” post.
When I look back at this post. My jaw drops, I was such a newbie. Being published in the first weeks of blogging, it is very obvious. The photos are yellow, I think it is safe to say that I did not know how to use my camera.
This post shows how much my blog and style changed over many months. In September I published this post with resources to update the appearance of a blog for free. I had spent so much time researching web design so that I was able to do these things for my blog for free and am so glad that I put it together in one place for others.
It goes without saying why this post became so popular. This is more recent post being published in October. The changes between those first posts and this are unbelievable.
I hope that as you take time to reflect on this past year you are able to appreciate the growth as I have.
