As many Etsy shop owners know, Pinterest is one of the highest traffic drivers to their shop. But because each shop is just a sub-domain of Etsy shop owners are not able to use the analytics feature built into Pinterest for Businesses. I recently found a great app that is much easier to navigate and understand what all of the information presented means. TailWind App for Pinterest Analytics. And the best part is that they offer their entry level for free. Now this does limit the amount of information you are able to attain through Tailwind App but it is still a valuable resource.
Right on the opening page you are given a nice snapshot of information. This includes followers and how many you have gained in the past 7 days. How many pins you have and how many pins you have added over the past 7 days. How many repins you have and how many occurred in the past 7 days. How many likes and again the change over the past 7 days. There is also a very clean graph that shows your followers over the past days as well as bar chart to break down individal day growth. At the bottom of the page there is Virality Score which is your total repins divided by total pins. Your Engagement Score which is repins divided by pins divided by followers. And lastly, your engagement rate which is the percentage of pins with at least 1 repin. All of this information is included with the free plan. There are a few paid options that really give you access to much more. But I find that for now I am ok with the amount of information provided and can really come up with a game plan for using Pinterest for my brand.
But that isn’t all that is available. You are able to track the growth of your boards. See which of your pins are trending. A full break down of your last 50 pins including category, board, pin (picture), how many repins, how many likes, how many comments, the date that it was pinned and the source. You are also given access to category heatmaps, including virality and engagement scores. Both of these boards are filled with information like your hottest category or board. Most active and most viral, where you are most active and where your audience is most active.
I really like the layout of Tailwind App and much prefer it to the onboard analytics of Pinterest. If you have used TailWind or any other resource to track your virality and engagement on Pinterest I would love to hear about in the comments below.
(Disclose: I am not affiliated with TailWind Analytics in any way. I just really like the program.)
