Do you use a social media editorial calendar? You should be!
Now that you have a steady stream of content flowing for your blog thanks to the No-Fail Methods for Curating Content and Creating An Editorial Calendar That Works you still have a lot of work to invest in promoting your content across your favorite social media sites. Integrating a social media editorial calendar will do wonders for your site’s traffic and save you time. By planning out what you would like to share when you write and schedule a blog post you will be able to promote your blog post for the next weeks without having to worry about going back to it and writing some fresh copy to share.
I am all for doing something once and moving on to another project. There is no reason that you should be coming back to continually promote blog posts that you want to see get more traffic.
There a few tools that I use to make this much easier. One of course is Buffer. The second, CoSchedule, works very well with Buffer but allows me to write copy for social media updates and schedule them before my post even goes live. And the third is my favorite tool for Pinterest, ViralTag.
The Must Have Social Media Scheduler- Buffer
If you have not already jumped on the Buffer bandwagon, you are truly missing out. Buffer allows you set schedules to when you want to share your social media posts on each network so that when you add it to your Buffer you know that it will be shared with your followers at an optimal time. Now it does take a bit of trial and error to find out when your audience is best responsive and when you should be sharing your content to set up a schedule. But once this done you are good to go and there is not much need to fuss with it unless you notice a drop of engagement. Luckily there are great resources like SocialBro (for Twitter) that will analyze your data and let you know when your best time to tweet is and give you the option to sync with Buffer. It doesn’t get more easier than that.
