Everyday people fall into bad habits that decrease their productivity, I am sharing my top five tools to boost productivity. The best part is that they all offer free versions to get you started on setting up methods to boost productivity in your business.
1. RescueTime (The Daily Tool to Boost Productivity)
This is the one that runs on my computer all the time. It tracks where I spend my time and gives me detailed reports letting me know if my time is being wasted on unproductive tasks. With the premium upgrade I can even block distracting websites and programs for a bit so that I do not allow myself to become distracted.
Hootsuite is my one stop for checking in on my social media sites. It is quick stop to check for messages that need to be responded to without the distraction the social media sites by themselves. I find it much easier to set the timer sign in and get what needs to be done finished without becoming distracted and back to the more important things of running my business. Hootsuite also has a feature to allow scheduling of content to your social media sites. But I prefer a differ tool for this.
Buffer is my social scheduling tool of choice. It is quick and easy to use. It differs from Hootsuite in that I am able to create custom times to send out social media updates and save those so when I add new content to the queue it knows when I want it to go out versus the suggested time that Hootsuite does. Both allow you to send out a status update immediately. I also like Buffer because it syncs with Bit.ly and all of my links are shortened and tracked in one location.
Evernote is the go to digital notebook. I keep everything in Evernote notebooks from screenshots with simple markup to drafts of blog posts. It helps me to stay focused and it goes with me everyone on my mobile devices.
Wunderlist is the perfect to-do list. It is also available cross platform. Wunderlist is quick and easy to add items that just need to get done. Including a reading list to follows from your email.
All five of these tools offer free options to get you started on your way to a more productive day. What tools do you depend on regularly to help boost productivity levels in your business.
