Every month I share how profitable blogging really is. Some months have a positive income report, others reflect a negative income report.
February 2015 Monthly Income Report
February was a month that I invested in my blog and didn’t actually see a profit but something that I am totally okay with. I upgraded my Adobe Creative Cloud subscription from just the Photoshop/Lightroom bundle to the full package. I also upgraded my computer to keep up with the creative projects I have been working on. I have been busy creating new products for the Etsy shop, Busybee’s Creation and less focused on the blog. One of the most difficult things for myself is finding the balance and time to work on everything that I want to get done in a single day.
I spent less time this month tied to the computer and more time brainstorming new product ideas and potential blog posts for the coming months. This was quite a bit refreshing, but I did utilize my iPad a bit more than usual.
Traffic for the month really dipped because I did not post as much for the month. I also did not spend time promoting on social media or linky parties. I know that finding a balance is essential for my blog to gain momentum but this is extremely difficult for myself. I would love to hear what methods you use to systemize your workflow and maximize your days.

This month I was in the red, but that is something I anticipated because I couldn’t resist the February bundle from Creative Market and decided to upgrade the ram in my Mac Mini and upgrade my Creative Cloud subscription so that I would have the tools to utilize some of the amazing assets that I picked up from Creative Market.
Thoughts for the future:
I am working towards increasing my revenue in my Etsy shop, Busybee’s Creation so that I can finally take the Learn to Blog Hangouts course. This is a course I have wanted to take after hearing all of the positive feedback from others but am finding it hard to justify the price tag. I am also working on creating a solid editorial calendar and sticking to it. This is due to the course I took last year from Blog Clarity, Content Brew.
Goals for March:
I have decided to share my top three goals for the upcoming month to help build public accountability and motive myself to work even harder for those goals so that I can cross them off on the next income report.
- Earn $300 from Busybee’s Creation
- Have 5000 pageviews
- Publish (at least) 8 blog posts for the month
What are you doing to help grow your blog? I would love to hear what is working for you in the comments.
